To ensure availability and proper planning, all catering orders must be placed at least five (5) business days in advance.
For large-scale or customized events, we recommend ordering at least two (2) weeks in advance.
HoustonEats Catering delivers to all HISD campuses and offices during standard business hours (Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.). Saturday upon request.
A 20% surcharge applies for catering services requiring on-site premium service. Additional fees ensure proper compensation for district employees and operational sustainability.
Clients must coordinate building access, gate clearance, and escort requirements with campus security in advance to avoid delivery delays.
All catered food should be consumed within 2 hours of delivery or stored properly. Upon delivery acceptance, the district is no longer responsible for food handling or storage to mitigate liability risks.
Catering services are intended for non-student consumption and must remain separate from USDA reimbursable meal programs unless expressly authorized by the district.
This distinction ensures compliance with federal regulations and protects a child’s nutrition program integrity.
All catering orders must meet a minimum of 10 guests per order. Certain menus and stations may have higher minimums, which will be specified at the time of ordering.

Note: As the district’s catering provider with first right of refusal, HoustonEats prioritizes serving HISD events and maintains these policies to ensure equitable access, operational excellence, and fiscal responsibility. Noncompliance with ordering lead times, cancellations, or other policies will not be accommodated.
