Thank you for choosing Houston Eats, HISD’s Catering Service. We are dedicated to creating a special event for your meeting, conference, or luncheon. Our menus have been selected to provide you with a variety of choices to satisfy your business and entertainment needs. We do understand that each meeting and event is unique, and has different service and budgetary requirements. We can customize any event to meet your needs, so please ask. We believe in 100% customer satisfaction, and we will do whatever it takes to achieve it.

Anything outside the normal operating hours are subject to a premium service fee and will be confirmed based on availability.
Houston Eats requires a minimum of 2-Business Days notice from the time of delivery for all orders 100 or less. *** UPDATE: Due to Covid- 19, Houston Eats is requiring a 5-business day request time.***
Groups of 100 or more require a minimum of 3-Business Days notice from the time of delivery. ***UPDATE: Due to Covid- 19, Houston Eats is requiring a 5-business day request time.***
Some events may need additional lead-time depending on specific event requirements. Please contact the Catering Office should your group exceed 200 guests.
Rush orders may be accommodated on a case-by-case basis, and are subject to a surcharge.
Discounts will be at the discretion of Houston Eats.
Please submit any quote requests through the catertrax system. You will need to create the catering order as if it was real & proceed to check out in order to submit the request. The only difference between a real order and quote are the following:
When checking out, type "QUOTE" in the ORDER NAME section. Select "CASH" for the PAYMENT TYPE. Once you submit the quote request, you will be given an invoice number. Do not print the invoice quite yet. Houston Eats will see the request come through the system, and make any changes to the quote if needed before cancelling it from que. You will then receive a tracking message notifying you the invoice "Quote" is ready to be printed off for your records.
Should the date you want the quote for not be available on the calendar, please contact the Catering Office to explain how to proceed.
The minimum number of guests required for an order is indicated in each section of the menu. Under certain circumstances, we will deliver for less than the minimum. However, charges will be based on the minimum and a delivery charge will apply.
Some events require a 50% deposit to hold a date on our catering calendar. Deposits are non-refundable and will be applied to the final invoice.
A (48-Hour Notice, which is equivalent to 2-Business Days) is required for cancellations or a reduction in numbers for events of 100 people or less. If there is a cancellation without a 48-hour notice, a charge of 100% of estimated F&B costs (based on the original invoice) will be billed to the customer. ***UPDATE: Due to Covid- 19, Houston Eats is requiring a 24-HR Cancellation Notice once the order has been confirmed.***
A (72-Hour Notice, which is equivalent to 3-Business Days) is required for cancellations or a reduction in numbers for events greater than 100. If there is a cancellation without a 72-hour notice, a charge of 100% of estimated F&B costs (based on the original invoice) will be billed to the customer. ***UPDATE: Due to Covid- 19, Houston Eats is requiring a 24-HR Cancellation Notice once the order has been confirmed.***
All cancellations or count reductions must be in writing.
Payments are accepted in the form of budget transfers, major credit cards, and checks made payable to HISD Food Services. Budget transfer funds are encumbered when catering is booked. Deposits are due at the time of booking if required to contract date. The final payment is due the day of the event.
DUE TO COVID-19, DROP & GO, REGULAR, & PREMIUM SERVICES ARE NOT OFFERED AT THIS TIME; ONLY PICK UP ORDERS.
All service packages include delivery, disposable plates, utensils, and napkins.
Drop & Go Service: For those events that require only the basics, Houston Eats offers a Drop & Go Service. We will deliver the menu of your choice, presented on disposable service-ware with serving utensils. Drop & Go deliveries DO NOT INCLUDE chafing racks, burners, table linens, or set up. The Drop & Go Delivery Fee is $20.00 within the local Houston Area. Deliveries made outside the normal delivery zone are subject to a premium delivery rate. Free Drop & Go Service for the Bennington Location within normal operating hours.
Regular Service: We will deliver the menu of your choice in disposable pans, platters, or bowls with disposable serving utensils. Regular Service includes delivery, set-up, and pick-up. Regular Service includes chafing racks, burners, and white linens for your buffet tables. Catering drivers will return after the event to pick-up any linens and equipment. If items are not returned upon pick-up, a lost equipment fee will be applied to the final invoice. Please note that we only provide linens for the F&B service tables. The Regular Service Fee is $50.00. Regular Service for the Bennington Location within normal operating hours is $20.00.
Premium Service: For the ultimate in service, Houston Eats offers a Premium Service. We will provide white linens for your F&B buffet tables, upgraded disposable-ware, upgraded chaffing dishes & serving utensils, burners, and ONE (1) on-site service attendant to assist with the set-up, buffet service, and break-down. Additional service attendants are based on availability and subject to additional fees based on the hours needed. Houston Eats partners with a Staffing Agency should you need additional attendants. Houston Eats will coordinate the temp staff, but the client is responsible for DIRECT payment to Staffing Agency.
Premium Service fees are calculated at $35.00 per hour (Minimum of 3-hours) plus a 18% service charge. Attendants are required to be on-site a minimum of one hour before the start time of the event, and one hour after the end of the event. There is a minimum charge of three hours per server.
Additional linens are upon request and subject to a $8 rental fee. Damaged or lost linens will be billed to invoice for replacement.
All weekend deliveries are subject to premium delivery rate.
